I love Proxxon for precision, and this base makes it even easier to use. I'm done with Dremel, they're overpriced trash.Though small in size, this is a powerful tool with a wide range of applications. The front part of the housing is made of aluminum alloy and very study. Because it is metal, the clamp can hold the machine tight and precise. The vibrations are modest, especially given the RPM. The electronics regulates the RPM under load. I have used both, Dremel and Proxxon and I highly prefer the latter. This clamp is very easy to adjust - one screw governs movement in all directions, and it's pretty solid once tightened. The clamp works fine and keeps the mount stable but the black tightening knob is a bit small. It's easy to keep clean, easy to adjust, and keeps the tool where you put it. Having the tool in one spot and moving the piece that I'm working on usually gives me much greater control, especially on small, fragile, or uneven pieces that are hard to clamp in place. Highly recommended accessory to the Proxxon.Nifty tool stand, as long as you're not trying to grind axles or something. This is great with the Micromot 50 E/F, for instance, for light grinding, carving, and finishing. The base is hefty enough to allow "semi-freehand" work, without the tool flying across the bench. Then, the base clips on for more static work. The ball socket handles any load that would reasonably be applied.Since I brought back the cordless version from Europe when it first came out, my 15 year old corded IB/E set idle. This holder together with the flex shaft puts this trusty tool back to use. It is now affixed to my small workbench in my office (which is the extension of a long office desk), which I use for smaller repairs around the house. It is extremely handy to have a stationary system where you just have to toggle the on/off switch, instead of looking where you put the case, taking it out of the box, putting the attachment on, etc... I most often use one of the silicon polishing disks and tips, and leave these attached, to remove corrosion from various electronic toys and devices around the house. Helps to mitigate leaking batteries, and these Duracell AA always leak, or slobber infiltration in toys. For other kind of work, the flex shaft gives you more precision bc it is lightweight and easy to navigate, and there is no bulk so that you can get into small corners with the tool. The holder is a big upgrade over the drill stand that easily tips over if you work with the flex shaft. And as mentioned, having a stationary system is just nice, and it does not look industrial either next to my many monitors which I use for my day job. You can also use the holder with grinder attachments to lead the work piece into the tool, instead of the other way around. You can position the holder vertically or horizontally or anywhere in between, and turn into any direction because of the ball mount. This holder fits any tool with 20 mm collar which includes the whole Proxxon hand tool lineup.Perfect for the occasional hands free operation, reasonable quality as always fom Proxxon.A very solid product. Does what it says on the tin.Excellent piece of kit allowing the rotary tool to be held securely whilst using tools to form and clean the work piece in total confidence.ich habe es mal wieder mit einem Proxxon-Produkt probiert, allerdings war das mein letzter Versuch.
